  • Climate
    • Hong Kong has a sub-tropical climate with warm to hot humid summers from May to September (25C to 29C, 77F to 84F), and a cooler season from December to February (14C to 20C, 57F to 68F).   • Public Holiday
    • Hong Kong has 17 public holidays a year, including some Chinese festivals. The majority of Chinese festivals are celebrated according to the lunar calendar thus differing dates each year. Click here to check out Hong Kong's public holidays.

  • Language
    • Cantonese is the Chinese dialect spoken by over 88% of the people in Hong Kong. Both Cantonese and English are the official languages of Hong Kong. All official signs are bilingual and most shops and restaurants also have English signage. Most taxi drivers and salespeople are able to communicate in English.

      Since reunification with China in 1997, Mandarin, more commonly known as Putonghua – the official dialect of China, has gained in prominence and most locals can at least comprehend it to a certain degree.

    • 220 volt electricity, plug type G (British 3-pin) Plug adapters and transformers are available at our Hotel.

  • Visa
    • A valid passport is required to enter Hong Kong and most nationalities can stay visa-free for less than three months. Separate entry requirements apply for travel from the HKSAR to mainland China and the Macau SAR.

  • Safety and Security
    • Hong Kong is generally considered a safe city both at night and during the day. Like any international destination, however, please beware of pickpockets in crowded areas.
